Shashani Matobo Hills Lodge is situated in the midst of the spectacular rocky landscape of the Matobo Hills on the western border of the park. The lodge is accessible from Bulawayo-Plumtree Road, a short drive from the small town of Figtree.
10 individually and very privately located bungalows offer breathtaking views of a huge granite hill and the unique landscape of Matopos.
A swimming pool provides a refreshing break, a fireplace in the open bar ensures cosy warmth in the evenings. There is also a barbecue area with a campfire where you can exchange experiences and ideas over a crackling fire.
From the private veranda of your room you can watch antelopes grazing in the green valley below the lodge. A rocky overhang with San paintings and antique grain stores is a leisurely stroll away from the lodge. If you feel more energetic, you can also climb the rock opposite the lodge. The view is definitely worth the effort.
From Shashani Matobo Hills you can take trips to the nearby National Park to spot and track rhinos, admire the famous cave paintings or visit the grave of Cecil John Rhodes.
