Walking Safaris in Hwange National Park
These four-day walking safaris begin at nine AM in Victoria Falls. Your guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to Hwange National Park. The transfer will take roughly 2 hours, then you check in at the national park gate. From here, you have another one to one and a half hour's drive but will most probably stop now and then to watch some animals along the way.
On arrival at your tented camp, you can settle in comfortably and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will grab your binoculars, camera and water bottle for your first walk in the wilderness. Your experienced guide is highly trained and will explain the animals, birds, plants and tracks to you that you see along the way.
The walks vary widely in length and speed, depending on what you discover along the way. At times, you will cover longer distances in an open game drive vehicle before planting your hiking boots on African soil again.
Groups are small, with a maximum of 6 guests, thus you can really savour the vastness and seclusion of the African wilderness.
Meals and drinks (water, tea, coffee, soft drinks and beers) are included.
You will stay in tents, if possible in permanent tents with beds and en-suite shower and WC. Should this camp not be available, you will sleep in large dome tents with comfortable stretcher-beds, mattresses and duvets. A bush shower and toilet are shared.
In the course of four days, you will experience the wilderness in the most direct way possible, on foot. Your guide knows this park like the back of his hand and all his profession is also his greatest passion.
On your last day, you return to Victoria Falls after breakfast, where you will arrive around noon.
